A panel headed by Justice DK Jain, appointed by the Supreme Court to probe the ISRO espionage case, will commence evidence collection in Thiruvananthapuram next week. The committee is also probing whether the investigating officers Siby Mathews, KK Joshua and S Vijayan who probe the case, conspired.

The Supreme Court announced a judicial inquiry in 2018 to probe the conspiracy behind the ISRO spy case. The Supreme Court observed that defaming and defaming a scientist who was a high profile figure in the society was a serious mistake.
The case was registered in 1994. Kerala Police DIG investigating the case. The victim in the case, scientist Nambi Narayanan, said that Siby Mathews had ruined his life. He filed the case seeking compensation against the investigating officers. The apex court had awarded compensation and announced a judicial inquiry against the investigating officers, including Siby Mathews.
