Thiruvananthapuram: The corona epidemic has created a huge hue and cry across the country, meanwhile, the lockdown was once again imposed across India in view of the increasing number of corona patients during the second wave of the corona. Though the restrictions are being reduced, the two-time lockdown has worsened the economic conditions of millions of people.

The stalled work due to the lockdown has forced many people to rejoice themselves. Meanwhile, the Kerala government has collected a fine of Rs 125 crore in just three months from people not wearing masks and breaking rules in the wake of the corona global epidemic. As per the information received, Kerala Police registered 17.75 lakh cases of violations of corona-related protocol between 8th May and 4th August, the month of lockdown, and imposed penalties ranging from Rs 125 crore to Rs 150 crore.

Data from the TNIE shows that 10.7 lakh persons were booked for not wearing masks during these 3 months. On the other hand, 2.3 lakh vehicles were seized for not wearing masks on the train, while 4 for various offenses such as non-observance of social distance, congestion, and hosting meetings and events beyond the permissible limit. 7 lakh cases were registered. Though the defects provide for a fine ranging from Rs 500 to Rs 5,000, the police refused to disclose the data taken from them.
