Kerala Floods: Experts Will Find Bodies With This Technique

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala, the southernmost southern state in the country, is reeling under floods due to heavy rains these days. The State has suffered a lot of loss of life and property in this natural calamity. According to official information so far, 116 people have lost their lives in the state. Experts are using radar technology to locate the bodies in this devastating flood. Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is being used to locate the dead bodies at Kwalappara in Malappuram and Puthumla in Wayanad.

Signals sent from GPR provide position information below the surface. A team of experts from Hyderabad has launched a search operation in two villages with the help of GPR. The aim is to locate the corpses buried under the soil. The statewide disaster report released by the government said that 116 people have lost their lives and 83,043 people are living in 519 relief camps in the second period of the Southwest Monsoon since 8th August.

According to the latest information, 53 people have lost their lives so far in Malappuram, 12 in Wayanad and 17 in Kozhikode. At the same time, the report says that 1,204 houses were completely destroyed during the monsoon. On the other hand, engineers distributed powerbanks to help flood victims in phone charging. So that people can keep the phone charged in the absence of electricity.
