Japan's longest-serving Prime Minster Shinzo Abe leaves behind divided legacy.

He came back to take office as the country's prime minister following a resounding victory in the lower house election in 2012.

In September 2018, he was chosen to serve as LDP president once more. By the number of days in office, Abe became Japan's longest-serving prime minister on August 24, 2020.

On August 28, 2020, he declared that he will leave his position owing to health issues. Abe had been married.
