There has been no increase in the price of diesel today by the government oil companies. However, the prices of petrol have increased by fourteen paise again on Sunday. Let us tell you that on last Friday, the rate of petrol was increased by 19 paise and on Saturday from fourteen to sixteen paise. At the same time, the rates of diesel in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai and Kolkata are same as before. Earlier on 30th July, the Delhi Government had cut the rate of diesel by Rs 8.36, due to which the rate of diesel in Delhi was Rs 73.56 per liter in the market.
 
According to information received from IOCL, today the price of one liter petrol and diesel in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai is as follows. Diesel 73.56 in Delhi, Petrol Rs 81.49, in Kolkata Diesel is 77.06, Petrol 83.01, Mumbai is 80.11, Petrol is Rs 88.16, Chennai is Diesel 78.86, Petrol is 84.52.
 

Let us tell you that the prices of petrol and diesel change at 6 am every day. The new rates are applicable from 6 am in the morning. After adding excise duty, dealer commission and other things to the rates of petrol and diesel, its price almost doubles. Along with foreign exchange rates, the prices of petrol and diesel are changed every day based on what the prices of crude are in the international market. On the basis of these standards, oil companies do the work of fixing petrol price and diesel price daily. Although dealers are the people who run petrol pumps. They themselves sell petrol at retail prices after adding taxes and their own margins to the last of the consumers. This cost is also added to the petrol price and diesel price.
