Muslim Women's Rights Day is being celebrated today, and 'Muslim Women's Rights Day' is being celebrated in the country to mark the completion of three years of the enactment of the law against triple talaq today. Various organisations across the country are going to observe this day as 'Muslim Women's Rights Day.' Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad introduced the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2019 in the Lok Sabha on June 21, 2019. The bill replaces the ordinance promulgated on February 21, 2019. The bill is making divorce speech, both written and electronic, legally invalid and illegal.

Shri Naqvi has spoken about the fact that there has been a significant reduction in the cases of triple talaq after the enactment of the law. Muslim women across the country have also given a strong welcome to this law. Various organisations across the country are celebrating August 1 as "Muslim Women's Rights Day".

Shri Naqvi is accompanied by the Minister of Women and Child Development Smt. Smriti Irani and the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupendra Yadav at an event organized to celebrate "Muslim Women's Rights Day" in New Delhi tomorrow. Shri Naqvi has said that the government has strengthened the "self-reliance, self-respect and self-confidence" of Muslim women of the country and has also protected their constitutional, fundamental and democratic rights by enacting a law against triple talaq.
