National Security Day is celebrated annually on March 4 by the National Security Council of India. In 2022, we are celebrating the 51st National Security Day. The aim of this day is to further the spirit of safety awareness among the people by providing support services related to safety, health and the environment.

The day is also celebrated to lay the foundation stone of the National Security Council, which was established on March 4, 1966, by the Ministry of Labour, Government of India. The first National Security Day was celebrated in 1972. In addition, National Security Week is being celebrated from March 4 to March 10 by organizing week-long security operations.

Let us tell you that serving the society by creating a preventive culture, scientific mindset and an organized approach to SHE issues. It is our belief that these issues are a basic human concern. We equally believe that their effective addresses are greatly facilitated when their internal relationship with quality and productivity is well demonstrated.

1- Organizing special training courses, conferences, seminars and workshops across the nation

2- Conducting consultancy studies such as safety audits, hazard assessments, emergency management planning and risk assessments

3- Designing and developing HSE promotional materials and publications

4- Facilitating organizations to celebrate 4 different campaigns Road Safety Week, Safety Day, Fire Services Week, World Environment Day

5- A number of national and international conferences were held eg. XIII World Congress (1993) and XI APOSHO Conference (1995) and implemented several prestigious projects

6- A computerized management information service has been set up for the collection, retrieval and dissemination of information to achieve its objective. A DVD of fire risk assessment was prepared by the National Security Council for the purpose of education.
