Today is the birthday of Indian actress Laila. She has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi language films. She is known for her critically acclaimed and prolific performances in children's films such as Nand (2001) and Pithamagan (2003), and commercial Tamil blockbusters Parthen Rasithen (2000), Dhena (2001), Dhill (2001), Alli. She has made a distinct identity with her acting in films like Thand Vanam (2001), Unnai Ninithu (2002), Ullam Ketakum (2005) and Kanda Naal Mudhal (2005) etc.

She made her debut in the Telugu film Egire Pavurama (1996) directed by SV Krishna Reddy. Laila got offers from leading directors to work in Tamil films and turned down films like Dharma Chakkar and Kadal Palli by KS Ravikumar and Pavithran respectively. After Pooja Kumar dropped out of the project, she was signed to appear in the lead role in VIP.

Furthermore, she revealed that she was unaware of Rambha and that she was also a heroine in the film. Laila later dropped out of the project, wanting to make her debut in a Tamil film in which she played the only heroine. Laila, who hails from Mumbai, then worked with Ajith in Dhena and with Prashant in Parthen Rasithen. Then Dhill and Pithamagan came with Vikram. In between, Laila took a break and went back to Mumbai. However, she returned to Kollywood with a big bang. The actress has achieved many achievements in her film career.
