Lakhimpur Violence: Minister Ajay Mishra's son 'missing,' UP police pasted outside Teni house

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Police on Thursday (October 7, 2021) pasted a notice outside union minister Ajay Kumar Mishra's residence in connection with the Lakhimpur violence case and asked his son Ashish Mishra to appear before the police. Ashish Mishra is accused of loading a car against protesting farmers in Lakhimpur and a designated FIR has been registered against him.

The notice asked Mishra to appear before the crime branch office at Reserve Police Line, Janpad Kheri at 10 am on October 8. The notice also said that Ashish Mishra has been booked under sections 147, 148, 149, 279, 338, 304A, 302 and 120B of the IPC. Eight people have been killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. The police have personally asked them to appear before the police and produce written, oral and electronic evidence in their defence.

Police pasted the notice following reports of Ashish Mishra missing after the incident. Meanwhile, police have arrested two persons in the case on Thursday (October 7). The two arrested persons have been identified as Lavkush Rana and Ashish Pandey close to Ashish. Farmers are insisting that Ashish Mishra was present on the spot at the time of the incident and Ashish Mishra was driving the car in which two protesters died. On the other hand, his father says Ashish was not present at the spot that day.
