His bail plea was strongly opposed by the UP government. Apart from this, the Uttar Pradesh government has also rejected the allegations of attack on a witness in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. The UP government said that the attack on the witness was not done under any conspiracy but due to mutual enmity.
