Guwahati: These days Corona has wreaked havoc all over the world. At the same time, cyclonic storms in the country have increased the problems of West Bengal and Odisha. Now one such natural disaster has also occurred in Assam. About 20 people have lost their lives in today's landslide in Assam. The deceased are reported to be from three different districts mainly in the Barak Valley region of southern Assam. There has been torrential rains in the region for the last few days. The Northeast is most affected by the problem of landslides.

Reportedly, out of 20 people, 7 were from Joypur in Catcher, 7 from Catcher-Hailakandi, and 6 from Karimganj. In Joypur, Cachar, a landslide incident occurred on Tuesday morning when several houses were destroyed in a landslide, killing seven people, including women and children. The dead have been identified as Tajimuddin Laskar, Alia Begum, Allam Uddin, Arif Uddin, Amuna Begum, Somuna Begum and Rahim Uddin. They are all from the same family.

It is being told that more bodies have been buried in the morgue. In Hailakandi's Bhoot Bazaar, a total of seven people died due to landslides. Whereas, due to this, six people of a family died in Karimganj.
