Laxmi Vilas Hotel Case: Former Union Minister Arun Shourie Appeared In CBI Court

Jodhpur: Former Union Minister Arun Shourie was asked to appear in the special CBI court of Jodhpur in the Laxmi Vilas Hotel case earlier. Whereas today, i.e. on Wednesday, he has appeared in the special CBI court of Jodhpur. Arun Shourie's lawyer Pradeep Shah presented the surety bond on his behalf during his appearance. During this, a personal bail bond of Rs 2 lakh has been introduced by Arun Shourie.

Arun Shourie said in court, "The case started in 2014 on an anonymous complaint but the CBI said twice in the closure report that it had no merit." The hotel was sold to Bharat Hotels Ltd. two decades ago for Rs 7.52 crore when Arun Shourie was the minister in charge of disinvestment in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.

In the initial investigation of CBI, it was found that the value of this property was around 252 crores, causing a loss of 244 crores to the government. Now when former Union Minister Arun Shourie has appeared in the court, his lawyer Pradeep Shah has put many things on his side.
