Prithvi Shaw has impressed everyone with her performance with bat in IPL. He is a star in the making and still has a lot to learn before he gets to don the blue for India. The youngster, who plied his trade for the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 opened up on the learnings he gained from head coach Ricky Ponting and advisor Sourav Ganguly.
Shaw said he learned a lot about the mental aspect of the game from the two legends during his time with Delhi Capitals this season. Shaw was one of the star performers as the Shreyas Iyer-led side reached the playoffs for the first time in seven years and won a knockout game in the IPL for the first time ever. Shaw told Media, “Learnt a lot playing under the legends Ricky Sir and Sourav Sir. Having played 15-20 years of international cricket, they have a lot of experience all over the world. It’s not about three-four things we are being taught, it’s more about mentally (being) over there.”
Shaw scored 353 runs in 16 matches at an average of 22.06 including two fifties. DC finished third in the points table with 16 points from 14 games in the league stages before beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator to take on Chennai Super Kings in the second qualifier.
