Lucknow: The leopard entered the densely populated areas of Lucknow, Paharpur and Kalyanpur on Saturday. Three persons including a member of the forest department team who reached the spot after the news of the leopard were injured by the leopard. On the other hand, even after about 24 hours, there is panic among the local residents as the leopard has not been caught.
According to reports, the leopard was spotted in a CCTV camera installed at Paharpur and Kalyanpur, a densely populated area of the Gudumba police station area of Lucknow. He was sometimes seen sitting in the streets and sometimes on the roof of someone's house. A team of police and forest department reached the spot after Tahrir. Thereafter, he appealed to the people to stay indoors and then tried to catch the leopard. After camping for the day, the forest department received information that the leopard was present in the vacant plot of the locality. Thereafter, the department evacuated nearby houses and then tried to catch the leopard by setting a trap in the evening. After about 3 hours of work, the leopard fled. At present, police and forest department teams are patrolling the area.
According to the same locals, the leopard first attacked a woman named Vinita Rawat. The leopard also injured the woman when her son attacked her with a brick. Meanwhile, when police personnel Gyanendra rushed to the rescue of the woman and the man, the leopard also attacked and injured the policeman. At present, all three have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
