Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) President Shibu Soren has given a big statement regarding the prohibition of liquor. They are in favor of prohibition in the state. On the occasion of the 43rd foundation day of JMM, he said that alcohol is a social evil. According to journalists, in his farm house, he said that in his political life, he has fought most against alcohol. It was said that earlier Mahua was used for alcohol on a large scale, but due to awareness it has come down to a great extent.

Along with this, Shibu Soren said that people's lives are getting spoiled due to alcohol. It had a positive effect in the beginning of the social movement. In the social movement, emphasis was placed on using Mahua for other work instead of alcohol. People used to make wine, while it can be cooked and roasted and used for food.

The JMM president said that earlier measures were used to get rid of the habit of alcohol by beating, but this is not a permanent solution. There should be a liquor ban in Jharkhand too. Liquor should be completely abolished in the state. Shibu Soren said that awareness about education is also necessary. Earlier people used to mislead the tribals that nothing would be gained from education. It was put in the minds of the tribals that education makes people lepers (lazy). We went from village to village and made people aware, so it had a positive effect. Today its effect is also visible. Society can progress only through education.
