Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has announced the ending of curfew in the state from May 18, although the lockdown will continue till May 31. Along with this, there have also been indications of more relaxation in non-container zones and restoring limited public transport system. He also clarified that educational institutions will remain closed for the time being.

For your information, let us tell you that the Chief Minister made this announcement on Saturday as a series of 'questions to the Captain', during a conversation with people through Facebook. He informed that apart from starting shops and small businesses in the non-containment zone, the areas in the containment zone will be strictly sealed. He said that after assessing the new guidelines of the Central Government for Lockdown 4.0, the exemptions will be announced by Monday.

In this situation, Amarinder appealed the people to be more alert and cooperate with the government. He said that the curfew strictly enforced in the state for the last 55 days is being relaxed by turning it into lockdown. He appealed to the opposing side not to do narrow politics on the serious issue of Kovid-19 and to cooperate with the state government.
