New Delhi: There is good news for the employees of Lok Sabha, the lower house of Parliament. These employees will now be given an annual allowance to buy their uniforms. Earlier, they were given a cloth to sew uniform once in two years. According to media reports, the process of giving an annual uniform allowance is starting for the first time.
The amount of allowance will be Rs 17,000 for female employees and up to Rs 16,000 for male employees. This amount will depend on the nature and rank of the job of the employee. The employees of the five main branches of the Parliament Secretariat will be eligible for the allowance. This includes reporting, table office and security. According to the HT report, an official has said, "The employees of these branches deal directly with MPs and other visitors. They are the faces of the Parliament Secretariat, so a uniform has been prescribed for them. This increases the dignity of the Indian Parliament. "
While giving the information, the officials have said that the benefit from the allowance will be that the employees can buy their new uniform whenever they want. Now they will not have to wait for two years. Employees are free to buy clothes which should be of fixed color and quality.
