New Delhi: In the state of Uttar Pradesh, the air is getting more poisonous. Air quality index (AQI) has reached very poor category in many cities of the state. Continuous monitoring is being done by the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board. Meanwhile, the salary of the Lucknow Regional Officer of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board has been withheld for the negligence of duty.

Lucknow District Magistrate, while writing a letter in this case, has asked the Regional Officer to clarify. Also, two days' time has been given for its accountability. Air has become the most polluted in Ghaziabad, Noida, Aligarh, Agra, Bulandshahr, Meerut, Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi and nearby cities of UP. As the level of pollution increases, the air is getting more toxic.

Due to pollution, a mist has started covering the sky in the morning and evening. Due to which visibility is being greatly affected. From the Center to the State Governments, attention is being paid to curb all pollution. In Lucknow, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 470 on Friday, while Ghaziabad recorded 464 AQI. This level of pollution comes under severe category. In addition, 440 AQIs were registered in Kanpur, 431 in Meerut, 400 in Bulandshahr and 403 in Agra.
