Damoh: Piparia village and Khalwa Tola, located just 35 km from the district headquarters in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh. The bridge connecting two blocks and 20 villages has been completely demolished and there is no trace of it. The government is also not looking into it, nor is it taking care of the administration.

Across the river, the khalawas are cut off from each other during rainy days. When children are out of school, patients are in a state of disrepair. When necessary, people have to resort to tree branches and ropes to cross the line. Many people drown in the river. In heavy rain the village becomes island. Patients are brought on the cot. There is no other way to go to villages. To help people here, a young man has bought a boat by selling his land, which allows him to take people across the border. Manjhi says he has been serving both villages for thirty years in a row, but he neither gets wages nor gets any help from the government.

On the other hand, the villagers say that the bridge would have been built and the problem would have been solved if it had been connected along the road. The Madhya Pradesh government, which claims development, is yet to see the bridge. On the other hand, Chief Executive Officer, Patharia Panchayat, says, "The RES agency may have constructed half of the bridge. We will write a letter to complete it."
