Senior BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Friday described Bollywood personality Shabana Azmi as an "agent and sleeper cell of the Tukde-Tukde gang". During this, Narottam Mishra was speaking on the release of 11 people convicted for the gang-rape of Bilkis Bano during the 2002 Gujarat riots. He said all this while reacting to the remarks of Shabana Azmi who raised questions in the same matter. "When crimes happen in a non-BJP state, these people don't utter a word," he said.

Apart from this, he also said, ''Why were these people silent on the murder of a minor girl in Jharkhand, why did they not say a word on the Udaipur murder? Because they see crime only in BJP-ruled states. These people are agents and sleeper cells of the Tukde-Tukde gang.'' Further, Narottam Mishra said, "These are the same people who took the initiative to return the award."
