After coming to power, the Kamal Nath government in the state had decided on March 8 to increase the OBC reservation from 14 to 27 per cent. The ordinance was also issued, but ten days later the verdict was challenged in the Madhya Pradesh High Court and the court stayed it.  So far, the SCs and STs in the state are getting 36 per cent reservation. The state government will now have to change the rules of recruitment in all its departments.
