Amravati: One of the incidents that have come to notice during the crisis of Coronavirus pandemic, is the death of Dr Pratiksha. 32-year-old Dr Pratiksha Valdekar (MBBS, MD) was engaged in the service of patients day and night at Irwin Hospital, Amravati. During that time she was carrying a baby, she was seven months pregnant. She was posted in the pathology department of this hospital.

Serving the patients in the Irwin hospital, she got hit by coronavirus. She was initially treated at Irwin hospital and later she was shifted to Nagpur when her health deteriorated. Her health was fragile for the last 10 days due to which she was given oxygen support. During the treatment, the child in her womb died. Later she also died on 20th September after her condition deteriorated.

Pratiksha had completed her education from Nagpur. Pratiksha's death created an uproar in the health department. When a Twitter user shared news related to the death of Pratiksha through her Twitter account, people attributed her death to the hospital in Amravati where she was also working during her seven-month pregnancy.
