Dehradun: At present, the whole of Uttarakhand is burning with Ankita's murder. Ankita Bhandari, who worked as a receptionist at a resort, was pushed into the canal and killed because she refused to sleep with the guest. The incident was carried out by the owner of the resort along with two employees. The resort is owned by Haridwar BJP leader Vinod Arya. Ankita's body was seized from the Chila canal this morning. The family members identified the body. Earlier late at night, the resort was destroyed with bulldozers. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over the incident and ordered an SIT inquiry. Angry over the incident, the villagers stopped the police vehicle and beat the criminals fiercely and also stormed the police station.

Disclosing the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police Pauri Shekhar Suyal said that Ankita Bhandari (19), daughter of Virendra Singh Bhandari, a resident of Shrikot, Pauri, who works in the Wabadra Resort in Gangabhogpur, was missing since September 18. On September 19, resort operator Pulkit Arya lodged a missing complaint with the revenue police. Collector Pauri transferred the case to Laxmanjhula police on September 22 last. Suyal said the criminals used to pressurise Ankita to have a relationship with those staying at the resort. There was a dispute over Ankita's refusal. On the night of September 18, the criminals killed Ankita after consuming alcohol. ASP Pauri Shekharchandra Suyal said that the hotel owner used to pressure Ankita Bhandari to have physical relations with the guest. When she refused, Ankita used to argue with the hotel owner and other criminals. A similar incident took place on the evening of September 18. Hotel owner Pulkit Arya, assistant manager Ankit Gupta and manager Saurabh Bhaskar brought the three two-wheelers to Rishikesh to convince Ankita, who was angry. On their way back, the three sat on the banks of the Chila Shakti canal and drank together. In a fit of rage, Ankita Bhandari was pushed into the canal.

According to police, Pulkit and Ankita had a fight at the resort on the night of September 18. On this, Pulkit, Ankit and Saurabh came to Rishikesh to pursue her on two two-wheelers. About 1.25 km before the barrage post, the three sat on the banks of the Chila canal and started drinking. Meanwhile, Ankita and Pulkit started fighting again. Ankita threatened to open the pole of the resort. Ankita threw Pulkit's mobile into the canal. There was a scuffle between the two. At this, the trio pushed Ankita into the canal. The three together devised a strategy to avoid the police. As part of the strategy, the three men reached the resort and informed the resort staff about Ankita's room and asked the cook to cook for the four people. Pulkit himself took the food to Ankita's room. So that the suspicion of Ankita's disappearance does not go to anyone. In the morning, the information about Ankita's disappearance was made public by the three under the plan. Ankita's missing complaint was also lodged with the revenue police in the case. During interrogation, it was revealed that Pulkit Arya used to pressure his receptionist Ankita Bhandari to sleep with the guests coming to the resort. There is anger all around Garhwal after the murder of receptionist Ankita Bhandari by the owner and employees of the resort by pushing her into the canal. People surrounded the Rishikesh police station on Friday. People raised the demand for the killers to be hanged. They also raised slogans against the police administration. Subsequently, when the police started taking the criminals to be produced in court, the angry women stood in front of the police vehicle. People vandalised the police vehicle and thrashed the criminals. The police also had to use mild force. Thereafter, the offenders were taken to court.
