Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the historic Red Fort, while neighboring countries and global allies took to social media to mark the occasion.

Maldives: A Friendship Rooted in History
Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu shared his congratulations with India, praising the strong and enduring relationship between the two nations. He described the India-Maldives friendship as one deeply rooted in history and highlighted its evolution towards fostering prosperity and development in the Maldives and the broader region.

Looking towards the future, President Muizzu expressed confidence that the partnership between the Maldives and India will continue to strengthen, driving mutual prosperity and shared goals. “As we look to the future, I am confident that our partnership will continue to strengthen, driving mutual prosperity and shared goals,” he wrote on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).

Maldives politician Abdulla Shahid also expressed his wishes to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, acknowledging India as an "all-weather" friend to the Maldives. Shahid praised India for being the Maldives’ first and most reliable responder during times of crisis and thanked the country for its generous development assistance and contributions to human resource development. He noted that the people of the Maldives cherish their relationship with India.

United States: A Rapidly Expanding Partnership
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also extended his congratulations to the people of India. He emphasized the growing partnership between the two countries, describing it as rapidly expanding across various sectors. Blinken highlighted India’s rich diversity and the deepening cooperation between the U.S. and India.

He noted that the partnership spans a wide range of areas, including climate action, clean energy, defense, and space technology. Blinken stated that the collaboration between the U.S. and India is stronger than ever as both nations work together to achieve a shared vision of a free, open, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
