Male: The ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has taken a big step against the toxic 'India Out' campaign being run against India by former pro-China President Abdulla Yameen in Maldives. According to reports, the Maldivian government is coming up with a new bill to declare Yameen's anti-India campaign illegal. By doing this, Maldives is adopting a balanced foreign policy, which will prove to be effective in strengthening its relations with other countries.

The new bill will levy a fine of 20,000 Maldivian rufiyaa from those raising anti-India slogans. Along with this, he can be jailed for 6 months or under house arrest for 1 year. Journalist Ahmed Ajan in Maldives has given information about this by tweeting. He wrote that the Maldivian government has decided to declare the use of India Out slogan as a crime. According to the bill prepared by the ruling party, those participating in this campaign can be jailed for up to 6 months.

In fact, Abdullah Yameen's 'India Out' campaign has gained more momentum after his release from jail. The former President has accused India of interfering in the country's internal politics and the current government of Maldives for "collusion" with India.
