The Chief Minister had held a meeting at the secretariat after the Lok Sabha elections and made it clear that his government could not implement the 7th Pay Commission as the recommendations of the Seventh PayScale have not been given by the Sixth Pay Commission.

The Commission is also preparing to recommend the pay scales of three and a half lakh government employees as well as the pay scales of 58 government-funded institutions. This will include teachers, panchayats and municipal employees, including employees of various commissions, councils and corporations. In addition, a new pay scale will be recommended for employees of 69 institutions under the state government.
