Kolkata: The Central Bureau of Investigation has started clamping down on leaders accused in the Narada scam case. The investigating agency on Monday brought former Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee to its office for questioning besides Leaders of The Trinamool Congress, the ruling Party of West Bengal, Firhad Hakim, Subrata Chatterjee and Madan Mitra.

Firhad and Subrata are ministers in the Mamata Banerjee cabinet in Bengal. Madan Mitra is an MLA from TMC. Mamata Banerjee also reached the investigating agency office after reports of the leaders being taken to the CBI office. Photos shared by news agency ANI show Mamata Banerjee reached the CBI office along with security personnel and several leaders. As per the media reports say the four have been arrested in the Narada sting operation case and brought to the Kolkata office of the CBI.

However, the arrest has not been officially confirmed. Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has already allowed CBI to take action against the leaders. Firhad Hakim is one of the big names of TMC and when CBI was taking him by his car, a huge crowd gathered outside and people started shouting slogans in support of him. The supporters also clashed with the security personnel.
