Nashik: Maharashtra's Nashik city police have arrested six persons for allegedly killing a man a year ago to claim a life insurance amount of Rs 4 crore, an official said on Wednesday. A police officer said that Ashok Suresh Bhalerao (46) was hit by an unknown vehicle near the Indiranagar jogging track on September 9 last year and died on the spot.

Bhalerao's brother suspected that it could not have been a simple hit-and-run accident. Investigation revealed that six people were part of the conspiracy to murder Bhalerao, who had embezzled term insurance worth Rs 4 crore. The officer said that the criminals have been arrested and further investigation is on. Significantly, this is not the first case of murder for insurance money. Recently, in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, the husband hatched a very sinister conspiracy to get Rs 1.90 crore from insurance. The vicious husband sent his wife to the temple, then got her murdered on the way. For this, the criminal had given a contract to the criminal.

The same incident took place on October 5, in the initial investigation it appeared to be an accident. But the police have now made a shocking disclosure. According to the agency, on October 5, the culprit Mahesh Chand asked his wife Shalu to accompany his cousin Raju to the temple on a motorcycle. At the request of the husband, the wife left for the temple. Due to this, an SUV hit his motorcycle at around 4.45 am. The woman died on the spot in the accident, while her cousin succumbed to treatment. Police said that due to the initial investigation, it appeared that it was a road accident, but when the case was investigated closely, the shocking truth came to the fore. The police have arrested Mukesh Singh Rathore along with his two other accomplices as well as the owners of the SUV, Rakesh Singh, and Sonu. While two criminals are absconding.
