In a recent interview, actor Manav Kaul mentioned Sushant Singh Rajput. In the movie Kai Po Che, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the two collaborated. When questioned about his recollections of the late actor, Manav recalled their time together while filming Kai Po Che and how they often slept in his "bigger hotel room" because of his fame. Manav continued by saying he remained in a compact room.
Manav spoke to Siddharth Kannan about Sushant and said, “I knew Sushant a little bit from the theatre circuit. I had only one scene with him in the movie. But we used to hang in his hotel room. Because he was a big star, he was given the bigger hotel room. I was in a smaller place; it’s normal.”
“I’d go over to his room, we had dinner there, we played the guitar. He used to enjoy video games a lot. It was fun… I like to say that Kai Po Che is my first film, because when I returned to acting after 12 years, I felt that the industry had changed. Actors were having serious conversations about performance, there was sync sound, more thought was being paid to the craft,” the actor added.
Alongside the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh appeared in Kai Po Che. The 3 Mistakes of My Life, written by author Chetan Bhagat in 2008, served as the basis for the Abhishek Kapoor-directed movie. Manav portrayed the important part of Bittu Mama even though he wasn't one of the primary actors.
On the other side, Manav Kaul made his acting debut in Bollywood with the critically acclaimed fantasy movie Jajantaram Mamantaram in 2003. He has since appeared in a number of films and TV series. The actor's most recent appearances were in Jalsa and Fame Game on Netflix.
After appearing in Pavitra Rishta (2009–2011), Sushant became quite a household name in the television business. Later, in 2013, he made his cinematic debut with the critically acclaimed and financially successful Kai Po Che. On June 14, 2020, Sushant was discovered dead in his Mumbai flat. He passed away three years ago on Wednesday.
