Mandaviya Launches 2nd Phase of Nationwide Mass Drug Admin Campaign

New Delhi: Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, formally initiated the second phase of the Annual Nationwide Mass Drug Administration (MDA) campaign on Thursday in Delhi, as per an official statement.

During his address to the audience, Mandaviya emphasized that the endeavor should go beyond mere medication distribution and also encompass efforts to curb the transmission of diseases carried by mosquitoes. He highlighted that progress towards our objectives would be severely hampered without addressing this aspect.

"India is resolute in its aim to eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis by 2027, three years ahead of the global target. This will be achieved through a mission-oriented approach, involving multiple partners and sectors," stated Mansukh Mandaviya during the launch of the second phase of the Annual Nationwide MDA campaign. The event was attended by Bharti Pravin Pawar, the Minister of State, and S.P. Singh Bhagel, from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The official statement further emphasized that the Union Minister underlined, "By fostering public participation (Jan Bhagidaari) and adopting a 'Whole of Government' and 'Whole of Society' strategy, we can successfully eradicate this ailment from our nation."

Additionally, the official statement noted that the inauguration event saw the virtual participation of Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, T.S. Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Brijesh Pathak, Health Minister of Jharkhand, Banna Gupta, Health Minister of Assam, Keshab Mahanta, Health Minister of Odisha, Keshab Mahanta, and Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Brijesh Pathak.
