However, prior to the release of The Family Man 3, there were rumours that the actor was being compensated well for his role as Srikant Tiwari in the show. However, on a recent talk programme, Manoj rejected all of these reports.

According to certain rumours, Manoj Bajpayee's pay is comparable to that of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. When asked about this in a discussion, Manoj Bajpayee dismissed the charges, claiming that OTT programme makers are just as terrible as film producers. He also said that producers are only willing to pay major performers, and he did not receive the money he deserved for The Family Man. He went on to compare himself to Chinese sweatshop workers. Extending on this argument, he emphasised that huge brands have factories in China because their labour is cheap, and he is the cheap labour here.
