DHARASHIV: In the ongoing Maratha quota protests, Dharashiv district in Maharashtra has been placed under curfew, and bus services have been suspended, with 49 individuals taken into custody. Here are the latest developments:

Curfew in Dharashiv: In response to recent incidents of violence during the Maratha reservation protests, a curfew has been imposed in Dharashiv district, Maharashtra. The curfew order, enacted under section 144 (2) of the CrPC, restricts gatherings of more than five people. This curfew will remain in effect until further notice and applies to schools, colleges, and most shops in Dharashiv. However, essential services such as pharmacies, government offices, banks, public transport, hospitals, and media outlets are exempt from this restriction.

Arson at NCP Office: During the ongoing Maratha reservation protests, a group of demonstrators allegedly set fire to the office of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) member Prakash Solanke in Beed City. This incident occurred while activist Manoj Jarange was observing an indefinite fast, which began on October 25 in the Jalna district.

Bus Services Suspended: Following an attack on one of its buses by protesters in Omerga, the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) has temporarily suspended its bus services to Maharashtra. In response, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) also halted services from Pune to two Marathwada districts.

Appeals for Patience: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, speaking in Yavatmal, urged the Maratha community to exercise patience. He asked them not to adopt extreme measures and assured them of a forthcoming "positive decision." He also cautioned against instigating violence in the name of the Maratha reservation, emphasizing that certain individuals were casting suspicion on the entire movement.
