BS6 emission standards have come into force in India from 1st April of 2020. Along with the new standard, some old popular diesel models have also been discontinued in the domestic market. The biggest contributor to this has been the Fiat's 1.3-liter diesel engine, which is used in most diesel models of Maruti Suzuki. Not only this, there are some diesel cars which people used to like very much due to their performance. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

It has always been at the top in the compact SUV segment and the company had given a tide-and-tested 1.3 liter DDiS 200 four-cylinder diesel engine, which generates 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. This engine gives a mileage of 24.3 kmpl and has been the best selling compact SUV since the year 2016. However, the company has now discontinued it and given it a 1.5-liter SHVS BS6 petrol engine with a facelift avatar.

Renault duster

Renault Idea has recently launched its BS6 standard-equipped Duster, which has an initial price of Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has discontinued the K9K diesel engine and replaced it with a 1.3 liter turbocharged petrol engine that generates 153 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual and CVT automatic transmission, while the diesel engine came in two tunes 80PS / 200Nm and 110PS / 245Nm, which made the customers find it quite powerful.

Skoda rapid

The company included a 1.5-liter TSI diesel engine, which has been discontinued. Now it has a 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine. With the diesel engine, this sedan was very appealing to the customers and at the same time its performance was also impressive.
