New Delhi: On Raksha Bandhan day, last Sunday, several parts of the capital Delhi were inundated. Yes, many areas here received heavy rain. Meanwhile, Delhiites have been relieved of the scorching heat due to the rain. The weather in Delhi is said to be pleasant at present. In fact, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 34.3 degrees Celsius last Sunday. Talking about the minimum temperature, it was 24.5 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below the normal temperature. The IMD has predicted cloudy sky and light rain at some places today.

At the same time, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be between 35 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively. The national capital recorded 9.2 mm rainfall during the last 24 hours and the Met department says that light rain may also occur on August 23. However, due to changes in wind conditions, the weather in Delhi will be clear from 24th to 26th August. At the same time, Delhi is likely to experience strong winds at a speed of 30 km. The temperature is expected to rise once again after the coming 24th of August.

IMD officials say Delhi received 138.8 mm rainfall on Saturday. For the ninth time in the last 62 years, August received so much rain in a day and so far Delhi has recorded the highest rainfall of 184 mm in a day during the month of August, which was recorded on August 2, 1961. Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 32.6 degrees Celsius last Saturday, one degree below the normal temperature of the season. Further, the minimum temperature was recorded at 23.8 degrees Celsius which is three degrees below normal this season.
