Lucknow: Amid reports of displeasure with Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former CM Akhilesh Yadav, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati has launched a scathing attack on the BJP government, supporting SP leader Azam Khan. Mayawati has said that in UP and other BJP-ruled states, like the Congress, the poor, Dalits, Tribals and Muslims are being targeted and tortured by making them victims of oppression, excesses and fear.
Mayawati said this while tweeting in support of SP MLA from Rampur and Azam Khan, who is considered to be the state's tallest Muslim face. In his tweet, he wrote, "In UP and other BJP-ruled states, like the Congress, the poor, Dalits, tribals and Muslims are being targeted and harassed by making them victims of atrocities and fear, etc. It's very sad. While in the case of others, their grace continues."
Mayawati further said that the UP government is continuously taking malicious and terrorised action against its opponents. The case of senior MLA Mohammad Azam Khan being kept in jail for almost two and a half years is in the news, which in the eyes of the people is not strangulated by justice, what else is it? Mayawati wrote, "The manner in which migrants, toiling people of the toiling community are being taken away by making them victims of fear and terror in the name of encroachment, by adopting a malicious and malicious attitude in many states of the country raises many questions which are also highly-worrying."
