Amid growing escalation along the border following the clashes between Indian and Chinese troops in Ladakh and North Sikkim over the past few days, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has bluntly stated that India is fully committed and capable of protecting its sovereignty and security. Indian soldiers are fully aware of the border. It is the Chinese soldiers who have obstructed the patrolling being done by the Indian forces.

In its statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said that the Indian security force personnel are fully aware of the border and they have followed the procedures laid down for guarding the border. The activities beyond the LAC are not correct. We are fully committed to maintaining peace on the border. As far as the noises between the soldiers are concerned, diplomats of both countries keep in touch with each other on this issue.

Whenever there is tension on the border with China, India makes a statement, but on Thursday, India has not only accused China of violating the international border but has also bluntly told that India is also fully capable of protecting its border. It is evident from this statement that the incidents of Chinese troops entering the Indian border in the northern region of Ladakh and Sikkim on May 5 and 9 are now taking a more serious form.
