Aizwal: 268 new cases of corona virus infection have been reported in Mizoram. The total number of infection cases in the state has increased to 15,631. A health department official said that 131 patients recovered in the state on Monday and 3,682 active patients are undergoing treatment. So far 11,879 people have recovered in the state.
According to the official, no new case of death has been registered in the province. In Mizoram, 70 people have lost their lives so far due to covid infection. A health department official said 200 cases have been registered from Aizwal district and the rest from Kolasib, Lunglei, Siaha, Langtalai, Saitual, Mamit and Serchhip districts. He said the new cases include 71 children and two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel. The official said 4,248 samples were tested on Monday and a total of 4,36,556 samples have been tested in the state so far. The rate of recovery from infection is 75.99 percent and the mortality rate is 0.44 percent.
According to data from the Union Health Ministry, 3,57,294 vaccine supplements have been administered in the state so far. It has given the first dose to 3.04 lakh people and both doses to 52,350 people.
