Aizwal: New cases of corona infection are steadily declining in the country, but things are still not good. Mizoram has registered 317 new cases of corona infection in the last 24 hours, with the number of infection cases in the state increasing to 13,996. A day earlier, 267 new cases of corona infection were registered in the state. According to the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), under tuesday's report, the number of currently active cases in the state has gone up to 3,388.

However, what is worrying is that new patients include more than 61 children, including one-month-old children. Of the new infected cases, the highest number of cases (251) have been registered from Aizwal, followed by 21 in Kolacib district and 17 in Lavangalai district. The rest of the infection cases have been reported from lunglei, serchhip, satual, siaha, mamit and khwajawal districts. An official said five people had travelled recently, while the rest of the patients were found in order to identify people who came in contact with infected people.

So far 55 people have lost their lives in the state from corona. At the same time, the number of recoverers from the disease has increased in the state. The infection in Mizoram has so far recovered 10,553 people.
