Mumbai: A man was badly beaten by people as a thief, leading to his death in Maharashtra's Kalyan. He was beaten up by angry mobs at the market outside the Welfare Station. The deceased is said to be Jongal Lohra. The 47-year-old Jongol is a resident of Jharkhand and the incident of beatings has also been recorded in CCTV. Based on the footage, 5 people have been detained by the police so far in this case.

According to an officer of the Mahatama Phule Police Station, the body of a person has been found in a market outside kalyan station. The hands of the deceased were found to be tied. The Aadhaar card was found in his pocket, which has been identified.

Further, the official said that the Aadhaar card indicates that Jongol Lohra was a resident of Jharkhand. At the same time, he revealed that he was bumped into a woman in the market. The woman thought she was a thief. She started screaming loudly during this time. The crowd then started beating her. CCTV footage shows three men tied her arms and legs. The man was then beaten up by the mob. When Jongol fainted, people left.
