New Delhi: Modi government has changed the rules for the pension of government employees. Now, after the death of a government employee in service of less than seven years, his family members will now be entitled to an enhanced pension. For this, the government has notified the amendments made in the pension rules.
Earlier, if an employee died while serving less than seven years, his or her family would get an increased pension at 50 percent of the last salary. But now in case of death of less than seven years, the family members of the employee will be entitled to an enhanced pension. According to the notification, President Ram Nath Kovind has approved amendments to the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1972. These rules, the Central Civil Service (Pension) Second Amendment Rules, 2019 will become effective from October 1, 2019. This will benefit the widows of the Central Armed Police Forces personnel.
It has been told in the government notification that government employees who die before completing their ten-year tenure by October 1, 2019 and have not completed their seven-year consecutive service, then their family members from October 1, 2019 Pension will be provided at the increased rate under sub rule (3).
