New Delhi: Due to Corona epidemic and lockdown, the country's economy looks battered. Due to this there has been a loss of revenue, the government's expenditure has also increased. This situation has started to affect the new schemes of the government. Actually, the central government has stopped the introduction of new schemes. The Finance Ministry has prohibited the commencement of new schemes approved by the various Ministries and Departments by the next 9 months or until March 2021.

The Finance Ministry, which is facing economic crisis in Corona's war, has stopped the introduction of any new plan for the financial year 2020-21. These restrictions are on those schemes which are in the approved or rated category. This order will also be effective on those schemes for which the Department of Expenditure of the Ministry of Finance has given in-principle approval. However, this order will not apply to self-reliant India and Prime Minister Poor Welfare schemes. In the order issued by the government, it has been clearly said that different ministries should not start new schemes. Focus on the schemes announced under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana or Atma Dependent Bharat Abhiyan.

An order issued on 4 June by the Department of Expenditure of the Ministry of Finance stated that, "In view of the Corona epidemic, there is unprecedented demand on public financial resources and there is a need to use resources judiciously with changing priorities". The order states that 'the introduction of new schemes already approved or approved in the financial year 2020-21, including the Standing Finance Committee proposals (plans for more than Rs 500 crore), will be suspended for one year.'
