At the age of 92, renowned Malayalam cinema producer and distributor PKR Pillai passed away on Tuesday. He was the financier of several films that established the career of superstar Mohanlal, including Amrutham Gamaya (1987), Chithram (1988), Vandanam (1989), Kizhakkunarum Pakshi (1991), and Aham (1992).
He died of age-related difficulties at his home at Mandanchira, close to Peechi, in the Thrissur district.
