New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held discussions with his certain ministers to formulate the Govt's strategy in Parliament, for the ongoing Monsoon session.

The government has been under fire from the opposition parties for raising prices, increasing the GST, implementing the Agnipath programme, and even forcing forced adjournments in both Houses of Parliament.

On the second day of the Monsoon Session, as soon as the Rajya Sabha came into session, protests and sloganeering by the opposition parties against inflation and GST rate increases caused the Rajya Sabha to adjourn until 2 pm.

"Today the Opposition got the Rajya Sabha adjourned till 2 pm on the issue of unbearable price rise and increase in GST, especially on food goods, on which the Modi Sarkar is hesitant to have a debate," said Congress general secretary and communications director Jairam Ramesh. The Lower House of Parliament has been suspended till two o'clock in the afternoon while opposition lawmakers yell about inflation and price increases.

The Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla, said that it was against the rules to bring placards within the House before adjourning the House's business till 2:00 p.m.

In Parliament, in front of the Gandhi statue, Aam Aadmi Party MPs protested the Centre for the Centre's delay in approving Arvind Kejriwal's visit to Singapore.

Parliament's monsoon session will last through August 12. There will be 18 sittings during the Session. The Press Registration Periodicals Bill, 2022 is one of 24 Bills that the Center is expected to introduce during the session. The Agnipath plan, rising prices, and unchecked inflation are among the 16 topics that the Opposition has selected for discussion during the monsoon session.

The monsoon session of parliament is important considering the fact that the Presidential Election and the Vice Presidential Election will be held during this period. The Presidential Election was held on Monday whereas the Vice Presidential election will be held on August 6.
