Lahore: As of Sunday, 40,151 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan, while 873 people have died in Pakistan due to this deadly virus. The Ministry of Health has given information in this regard. The Ministry of National Health Services said that out of 40,151 cases, Sindh has the highest number of 15,590 corona cases. Subsequently, there are 14,584 cases in Punjab, 5,847 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 2,544 in Balochistan, 947 in Islamabad, 527 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 112 cases in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
He said that 39 people have died in the last 24 hours, after which the number of dead has increased to 873, while 11,341 people have been cured of this disease. It said that 373,410 samples have been tested so far, of which 14,175 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours. Even after the increase in the number of infections, the government of Pakistan has relaxed the restrictions on lockdown and most shops etc. have opened in the country.
According to Information Minister Shibli Faraj, a selective lockdown policy has been adopted to curb movement in areas badly affected by the infection. Pakistan started operating domestic flights in a phased manner on Saturday and transport services will be restored from Monday.
