Steve Forbes was born on July 18, 1947, in Morristown. Steve Forbes was twice nominated for the presidency by the Republican Party.
For your information, let us tell you that Forbes earned a BA degree in American History from Princeton University in 1970. His father was the head of Forbes magazine. At the same time, he started writing a column for the magazine in 1973 and in 1980 he became the Chairman and Chief Operating Officer. After the death of his father in 1990, Forbes became the company's chief executive as well as the editor-in-chief of the magazine, and under his leadership the company expanded its publishing ventures.
In his political life, he advocated reliance on personal retirement accounts as an alternative to social security and the use of medical savings accounts in place of traditional employee health benefits. He supported conservative positions on many other issues, including term limits for members of Congress, school vouchers, and the end of affirmative-action policies.
