In India, a new motor vehicle law has been implemented long time ago. Due to these strict provisions, there is a lot of chaos. But the Central Government claims that after the enactment of this law, the number of people who died due to accidents has decreased in a big way. While answering a question in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that especially in states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Uttarakhand, due to this, the death toll in accidents has come down drastically. However, during this time there has also been an increase in the number of deaths in Chhattisgarh.

For your information, let us tell you that the Government was asked in the Lok Sabha whether after the implementation of the new Motor Vehicles Act, it has received any kind of feedback about it. In response, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Gadkari said that many states and union territories have sent many feedbacks to the central government regarding the new law. Apart from this, many organizations such as the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) and the Bus and Car Operators Confederation of India (BOCI) have also shared experiences with the government regarding this.

Regarding this law, he said that, after analyzing the data received from the states and union territories, the number of deaths due to accidents has come down. After the new law came into force, there was a huge increase in the fine for not applying the helmet on two-wheelers and seat belts in four-wheelers, due to which the number of users using these two safety features has increased immensely.
