The Udyam online Registration launched by Union MSME Ministry commenced from 1st July, 2020, has found more than 11 lakh MSMEs successfully registered by now. The definition and the process of registration of MSMEs has been revised by the ministry. The Ministry has launched a new portal for MSME registration (https://udyamregistration.gov.in). More than 11 Lakh MSMEs has been registered till October 31, 2020 informed the ministry.

The portal is seamlessly integrated with CBDT and GST networks and also with the GeM ensuring paperless MSME registration. MSME Field Establishments such as MSME-Development Institutes, MSME Technology Centers, NSIC, KVIC, Coir Board has been instructed to extend full support to entrepreneurs for Udyam Registration by the ministry. All District Magistrates and District Industries Centers have been requested to expedite registration by the MSMEs. CHAMPIONS’ platform through its network of Central Control Room and 68 State Control Rooms across the country is supporting the complaints related to registration.

Out of 10 Lakh registers, 3.72 lakh enterprises comes under Manufacturing category and 6.31 lakh under Service sector, male and female ownership figures are 7.98 Lakh by male and 1.73 Lakh by female entrepreneurs, micro and small, medium enterprise share accounts to 93.17%, 5.62%, 1.21% respectively, about 1% comes under Divyangjan entrepreneurship, Top 5 industrial areas Food Products, Textile, Apparel, Fabricated Metal products and Machinery & equipment and the top 5 states Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, these units have provided employment to 1,01,03,512 persons. Registration without PAN is allowed upto 31.03.2021 and without GST upto 31.03.2021. THe registration is free of cost and all MSMEs are requested to register themselves to avail the benefits from the industry.
