In the BJP government, Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said that the Citizenship Amendment Bill has not been brought to take citizenship of anyone. He said that this bill has been brought for those who have been tortured for years.

In his statement, Naqvi targeted those opposing the bill and said that an atmosphere of lies and fear is being created. Sonia Gandhi is saying it black day, was not that a black day when the country was divided. He said that people of North East are being tricked. It is not against any religion.

For your information, let us know that the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 was passed in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. This bill has already been passed in the Lok Sabha. The Rajya Sabha had 125 votes in favor and 105 votes in opposition. Earlier, the proposal to send the bill to the Select Committee was rejected.

Recently, Shiv Sena members who joined hands with Congress, opted out of voting on the bill. At the same time, the Janata Dal (United) supported the bill. With the approval of Parliament on the Citizenship Amendment Bill, now immigrants living illegally in different parts of the country will be able to gain citizenship despite having no residence certificate.
