Lucknow: Former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA and mafia Mukhtar Ansari is afraid of being attacked while going to court from jail. Due to this, Mukhtar Ansari has sought exemption from personal appearance as well as requesting for his protection from the MP MLA court. He has appealed to the court to appear only through video conferencing.

In fact, on Friday, the case of the murder of a labourer in 2014 in Airakala village under Tarwan police station area of Azamgarh was heard in the MP MLA court. The accused in the case, mafia Mukhtar Ansari, appeared before the court through video conferencing. The trial of this case in the court is in the final stages. It is mandatory for the accused to be present in the court at the time of the sentence. In such a situation, Mukhtar Ansari has requested for the protection of his life and requested for a hearing through video conferencing.  

Mukhtar's lawyer has also submitted a petition in this regard in the court. The court has fixed June 13 as the next date for hearing the case. Mafia Mukhtar Ansari is currently serving his sentence in Banda jail. From there, in different districts, he has muscle through video conferencing.
