Lucknow: There are protests in various parts of the country regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act. After the northeastern states, student organizations in Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia University and UP's Aligarh Muslim University opposed the act on Sunday, following which violence erupted and both the universities were closed till 5 January.

SP national president Akhilesh Yadav, who is opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC. At the same time, Aparna Yadav, the younger daughter-in-law of Mulayam Singh Yadav, has supported NRC. Aparna Yadav tweeted on the Citizenship Amendment Bill and NRC, saying, 'What is the problem of being registered in the register of what belongs to India?'

Let us tell you that the Samajwadi Party opposed the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav had given a statement regarding the bill that BJP's CAB-like steps will prove to be historical and not a mistake. Significantly, Aparna Yadav has already supported the Modi government on many issues.
